Topdressing Greens

We will complete a very important cultural practice today. The application of sand to the putting surface improves the playability and integrity of the putting surfaces. Due to the recent wet weather, we are applying a little more sand than usual. Topdressing reduces organic matter, smooths the surface and improves drainage. The last couple of weeks, we have accumulated an estimated 10.5" of precipitation. The wet pattern has also limited our mowing practices. The "GOLF COURSE MAINTENANCE TEAM" will be all hands-on-deck tomorrow and through the weekend catching-up on the mowing. Below are some pictures of the topdressing.
